RADISH CHUTNEY

INGREDIENTS:

Radish   2   (5 inches long each)

tomato   1   big

Small onion   7 to 8

Tamarind paste  1/2  tsp

Ginger  1/2  inch

Bengal gram  1  tsp

Urad dhal  1  tsp

Long red chillies  3

Garlic  2  flakes

Mustard seeds  1  tsp

Grated coconut  5  tsp

Curry leaves   A few

Salt

PREPARATION METHOD:

Peel radish and small onion and cut them in to small pieces.

Cut tomato and ginger into small pieces.

Add a tsp oil to a hot pan and add bengal gram, urad dhal and red chillies.

Fry till bengal gram turns golden.

Add this to a mixie jar and let it cool.

Dry grind it coarsely.

Add one tsp oil to the pan and add onion, radish, ginger, curry leaves and garlic.

Fry till onion is soft.

Add coconut and fry for a minute or two.

Then add cut tomato and fry till tomato is soft.

Let it cool.

Now add radish to the mixie jar and grind along  with the coarsely ground powder.

Add  tamarind, salt and sufficient water and grind well.

Season it with mustard seeds.

Serve with idly, dosa and curd rice.
