HOT AND SWEET RAW MANGO PACHADI

INGREDIENTS:

Sour raw mango thin slices  1  cup

Long green chillies  2

Mustard seeds  1/2  tsp

Urad dhal  1  tsp

Asafoetida  A pinch

Turmeric powder  1/4  tsp

Sugar  2  tsp  (Or as per requirement)

Salt

Curry leaves  A few

PREPARATION METHOD:

Remove the skin and cut the mango into thin slices.

Add 1 tbsp oil to a hot pan.

Add mustard seeds, urad dhal, asafoetida, turmeric powder and cut chillies.

Add cut mango slices and fry in high heat for a minute.

Reduce the heat to minimum, sprinkle little water and close the pan with a lid.

After two minutes open the lid and check the mango.

If it is cooked well, add salt, sugar and curry leaves and mix well.

Check for taste and add sugar if necessary.

This goes well with curd rice and also can be consumed separately.

This pachadi will be sour, hot and sweet.

PS: The mango should be sour.
