Fenugreek and Pepper Pachadi
|Fenugreek and pepper Pachadi Ingredients: Fenugreek 1 tsp Pepper 1 tsp Small onions 20 Garlic flakes 10 (cut onions and garlic together should be 1 cup) Tamarind paste 2 tbsp Broken cashews 7 or 8 Long red chillies 2 Salt Jaggery 2 tbsp Rasam powder 1 tsp (Rasapodi) Curry leaves A few For seasoning: Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp Urad dhal 1/2 tsp Bengal gram 1 tsp Preparation Method: Cut onions and garlic into big pieces. Heat a tawa and add 3 tbsp of oil. Add mustard seeds, urad dhal, bengal gram dhal and broken red chillies. Now add fenugreek, pepper, broken cashews and fry till golden. Add onions and garlic, and curry leaves and fry till onions becomes soft. Add tamarind paste with little water and close it with a lid. After few minutes remove the lid and add salt, jaggery and rasam powder. Mix it well and let it boil for a minute and serve with hot white rice and ghee. In india this pachadi is often served for the ladies after delivery. It protects from fever, cold and body pain. vasanthees.wordpress.com
