WHOLE WHEAT DOSA
|WHOLE WHEAT DOSA:
INGREDIENTS:
Whole wheat 1/2 cup
Raw rice 1/2 cup
Thick tamarind extract 1/4 cup (or as per requirement)
Grated coconut 1/3 cup
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Red chillies 2
Salt
PREPARATION METHOD:
Wash and soak wheat in water for 4 hours.
Wash and soak rice in water for an hour.
Drain water completely from wheat.
Add it to the grinder little by little, with a gap of few seconds.
Do not add water while grinding wheat.
Slowly, add all the wheat and when the wheat is ground coarsely add rice and water.
Now, add red chillies, cumin seeds, tamarind extract, grated coconut and salt.
Add sufficient water and grind well.
Remove the batter and check for taste.
Now make dosa and serve hot with honey or lime pickle.
PS: I ground the wheat in my table top grinder.
If the wheat cannot be ground in the normal type grinder, soak the wheat for few more hours.
The batter will be little coarse even after grinding well in both type of grinders.
