TAMARIND DOSA
|TAMARIND DOSA:
INGREDIENTS:
Boiled rice 1 cup
Grated coconut 1/2 cup (or a little more)
Thick tamarind extract 3 tbsp
Jaggery 2 tbsp
Red chillies 2
Bengal gram 1 tbsp
Curry leaves A few
Salt
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
PREPARATION METHOD:
Wash and soak boiled rice for an hour in water.
Soak bengal gram in water for an hour.
Grind rice along with coconut, curry leaves, jaggery, red chillies and salt.
Add tamarind extract to the batter and season it with mustard seeds and asafoetida.
Add soaked bengal gram and mix well.
The batter should be little thicker than rava dosa batter.
Make dosa and cook it in medium heat and sprinkle a spoon of oil.
Flip the dosa and cook in medium heat.
Serve hot with honey or any pickle.
PS: As we add coconut, dosa should be cooked a little longer time.
So cooking in medium flame is better.
As the dosa contains all tastes, no need of any side dish.
