MOONG DHAL (Dehusked broken green gram) GRAVY for chapathi
This is a simple and very tasty dish.
Takes very little time for preparation.
INGREDIENTS:
Moong dhal 1/2 cup
Tomato (big)  1
Green chillies  3
Garam masala powder 1/4 tsp
Garlic 3 flakes
Coriander leaves  A small bunch
Mint leaves  10 or 15
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
Salt
Lime juice 2 tsp
PREPARATION METHOD:
Cut tomato in to small pieces. Wash moong dhal well and add tomato to it.
Add sufficient water and pressure cook for 4 whistles.
Grind garlic, chillies, coriander leaves and mint leaves with water.
Add one tbsp oil to a hot pan and add mustard seeds and asafoetida.
Add cooked dhal, salt, sufficient water and ground paste.
Add garam masala powder and cook till it boils and reduce the heat.
Add lemon juice and remove from heat.
Serve hot with chapathi.
