MASAL FOR PURI (TYPE 1)
|MASAL FOR PURI:
INGREDIENTS:
Potato 1 (Big)
Onion 2
Tomato 2
Green chillies 3
Chilly powder 1/4 tsp
Garam masala powder 1/4 tsp
Bengal gram flour 1 tbsp
Curry leaves and coriander leaves A few
Salt
Bengal gram 1 tbsp
Urad dhal 1 tsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida A big pinch
PREPARATION METHOD:
Pressure cook the potato, peel it and mash it.
Cut onions length wise and tomatoes in to small pieces.
Slit green chillies in to two.
Mix the bengal gram flour in 1/4 cup of water without lumps.
Add 4 to 5 tsp oil in a hot pan and add mustard seeds.
Add bengal gram, urad dhal and asafoetida and fry till golden.
Add cut onions, green chillies and curry leaves and fry in high heat.
When onion is soft add tomatoes and fry for a minute and reduce the heat.
Close the pan with a lid and let it cook for a minute in minimum heat.
Add turmeric powder, mashed potato and chilly powder and mix well.
Add the bengal gram flour, salt and garam masala powder and mix well.
Add sufficient water and let it boil for a minute in minimum heat.
Add cut coriander leaves and switch off the stove.
Serve hot with puri.
