Sesame Seeds Kulambu
Sesame seeds are imprtant source of omega 6 fatty acids and flavonoid.
It contains phenolic anti oxidants,vitamins and dietary fiber. It is a good source of B Complex and folic acids.
It is a valuable source of dietary protein with amino acids. And it is very essential for children.
Ingredients:
Sesame seeds 1/4 cup
Small onions 10
Green chilly 1
Red chillies 2
Tamarind paste 2 tbsp
Jaggery 3 tsp
Salt
Curry leaves A few
For seasoning:
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Preparation Method:
Heat a pan and add the sesame seeds and red chillies.
Sprinkle little water and roast the seeds till it splutters.
Remove the pan from heat and let it cool.
Dry run the seeds into powder.
Add 2 tsp of oil in a hot pan and add mustard seeds.
Add chopped small onions and cut green chillies and fry till onion is soft.
Add the tamarind paste along with 3/4 cup of water and curry leaves.
Add salt and jaggery.
When the water is boiling add the powder and remove the pan from heat.
Mix it well and serve with white rice.
Sesame seeds are rich in calcium, iron,manganese,zinc,magnesium,selenium and copper.
People who are allergic to sesame seeds please do not try this.
