ALMOND HALWA
|ALMOND HALWA
INGREDIENTS:
Almonds 1 cup
Sugar 1 cup
Ghee 1/3 cup
Food colour A pinch (Kesari colour or yellow colour)
PREPARATION METHOD:
Soak almonds in water for 10 hours.
Peel the skin and wash well.
Grind the almonds with water coarsely.
Add the ground paste and sugar to a pan and stir well.
Mix the food colour in a spoon of hot water, filter it and add it to the pan.
Cook in medium to low flame and keep stirring.
When the halwa is cooked well reduce the heat, add ghee and mix well.
When the halwa becomes non sticky and when the ghee separates, add saffron.
Mix well and switch off the stove after two minutes.
Serve hot.
PS: The halwa becomes shinny when it is cooked well.
If needed, add little more ghee.
Almonds can be ground with milk too.
