Wheat Rava Upma
Ingredients:
Wheat rava 1 cup
Big Onion 1
Carrot 1
Grated coconut 3 tbsp
Tamarind paste 1 tbsp
Green chillies 3
Ginger 1 inch
Curry leaves and coriander leaves A few
Broken cashews 1 tbsp
Bengal gram 1 tbsp
Urad dhal 2 tsp
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Salt
Preparation Method:
Cut onion  and carrot  in to small pieces.
Grind green chillies, ginger, curry leaves and coriander leaves.
Heat 3 tbsp oil in the pan and add mustard seeds.
Add bengal gram, urad dhal and cashews.
Fry till bengal gram turns golden.
Add carrot and fry for a minute in high heat.
Add onion and fry in high heat till it becomes soft.
Add the ground paste and 2 cups of water.
Add salt and tamarind paste and let the water boil.
Pour the wheat rava slowly and keep stirring.
Keep stirring for a minute even after rava is poured.
This prevents forming of lumps.
Reduce the heat to minimum and close the pan with a lid.
After two minutes remove the lid and add grated coconut.
Mix well for a minute and switch off the stove.
Serve hot with mango pickle or coconut chutney.
