Milk Payasam
Ingredients:
Thick milk 1 lt
Raw rice 1/4 cup
Sugar 12 tsp (A little more or less, as per taste)
Broken cashews 1 tbsp
Raisins 1 tbsp
Cardamom Powder 3/4 tsp
Wash well and soak the rice in water for 1 hr.
Drain the water well.
When the milk is boiling add the rice little by little.
Keep stirring while adding the rice.
Lower the heat and let the rice get cooked.
Stir then and there.
When the rice is cooked well add the sugar.
Mix well and add cardamom powder.
Switch off the stove.
Heat 1 tsp ghee and fry the cashews till golden.
Add it to the payasam.
Wash the raisins gently and drain the water.
Heat 1 tsp ghee and fry raisins and add it to the payasam.
Mix well the payasam and serve hot or cold.
