KARUVEPILLAI IDLY (CURRY LEAVES IDLY)
|INGREDIENTS:
Curry leaves (light green in colour) 1 and 1/4 cup
Boiled rice 1 cup
Urad dhal 1/4 cup
Salt
Preparation Method:
Soak Boiled rice and Urad dhal in water for 1 hour.
After one hour soak curry leaves in the water in which turmeric powder and salt are added for 2 minutes.
Remove the leaves from it and wash it well in plain water.
Grind leaves,rice and urad dhal together.
Add salt to the batter and keep it aside for 12 hours.
After 12 hours make idly and serve it hot with a drop of ghee (optional) on it.
For curry leaves idly Coconut chutney,tomato chutney, coriander leaves chutney are suitable combinations.
Curry leaves are rich source of iron and folic acid.
It helps keep anaemia at bay.
Curry leaves also protect the liver and stimulates it to work more efficiently.
