Puli kaychal

Puli Kaychal is an amazing side dish to go with Vargu Arisi Pongal.  Please try and post your comments.

Ingredients:
Tamarind paste 5 tbsp
Finely chopped ginger  1/4 inch
Green chilly 1   cut it into 4 pieces
curry leaves a few.
salt to taste
For seasoning:
Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
Urad dhal 1/2 tsp
Bengal gram 1 tsp
Asafoetida 2 pinches

Cooking Method:
Add 3 tsp oil in a  pan and heat it.
Add mustard seeds  then urad dhal and bengal gram dhal and let them splitter.
Add ginger green chilly and asafoetida.
Add the tamarind paste with equal quantity of water or a little more.
Add salt and 1 tsp jaggery  along with curry leaves.
Enjoy varagu ven pongal with puli kaychal.
