THEPLA (VENDHAYA KEERAI CHAPATHI)

INGREDIENTS:

Wheat flour  1  cup

Gram flour  2  tbsp

Fenugreek leaves  1  cup  ( leaves alone)

Fresh thick curds  2  tsp

Sesame seeds  1  tbsp

Turmeric powder  1/4  tsp

Chilly powder  1  tsp  ( or as per requirement)

Sugar  1  tsp

Ginger  1/2  inch

Garlic  flakes  3  to  4  ( small flakes)

Salt

Cooking oil  2  tsp

PREPARATION METHOD:

Grind ginger and garlic along with curds and little water.

Add wheat flour, gram flour, salt, sugar, turmeric and chilly powder to a bowl.

Add sesame seeds to the bowl and mix well.

Add fenugreek leaves and oil and mix well.

Add ground paste and sufficient water and make a dough.

Keep it aside for 1/2 an hour.

Make lemon sized balls and make thin chapathis.

Add the chapathi to a hot thawa and cook with little oil on both sides.

When it turns golden brown remove from thawa.

Serve hot with tomato chutney.

PS: It is a gujarathi dish.
