Chilly Cheese Bajji
INGREDIENTS:
For Batter
Gram flour 1/2 cup
Rice flour 1/2 cup
Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
Salt
Chilly powder 1/2 tsp
Cooking soda 2 pinch
Ajwain seeds 1/4 tsp
Water As per requirement
For Filling
Bajji chilly 5 or 6
Cheese Bar 100 gms
Lemon 1
Garam Masala Powder 1/2 tsp
Salt
Pepper powder 1/2 tsp
Finely chopped onion 1
PREPARATION METHOD:
Cut chilly in to two, horizontally.
Remove the seeds and thread like parts.
Wash the chillies inside and outside well.
Cut chesse in to finger length pieces.
Mix lemon juice, salt, pepper powder and garam masala in a bowl.
Marinate cheese pieces in this mixture for five minutes.
Stuff little onion and cheese in to each chilly.
Mix gram flour, rice flour, asafoetida, ajwain seeds and cooking soda.
Heat oil for frying.
Now add very little water and make a thick batter.
The batter should be thicker than idly batter.
Only then the batter will stick to the chilly.
Now dip the chilly in the batter and make sure both ends are coated.
Add chillies to the hot oil and fry in medium heat.
Turn gently once or twice and fry till golden brown.
Remove from oil.
Serve hot with tomato ketch up and coriander chutney.
