|Sago Bonda
Ingredients:
Sour idly batter 2 cups Sago (Nylon sago) 1/4 cup Bengal gram 2 tbsp Sour curds 2 to 3 tbsp Green chillies 4 to 5 Finely chopped ginger 1 tsp Mustard seeds 1 tsp Preparation Method: Soak the sago in the sour idly batter for 6 to 7 hours. Soak bengal gram in water for an hour. Grind green chillies with 1 tbsp of sour curds. Mix it with idly batter along with soaked bengal gram. Season the batter with mustard seeds. Add ginger and mix the batter well. Check the taste. The consistency should be idly batter consistency. Heat oil in the pan in medium heat. When oil is hot enough put small balls in the oil. Turn the balls after 2 minutes. Turn the balls then and there. When the balls turn golden remove it from oil. Soaking the sago for 6 to 7 hours is very important. If sago is not soaked for 6 to 7 hours, it will splutter in the oil. So please make note of this. This is a famous south indian snack. Serve hot.
