LEMON RASAM
|LEMON RASAM:
INGREDIENTS:
Toor dhal 1/4 cup
Water 3 cups
Lemon 1
Rasam powder 1 tsp (or as per requirement)
Salt
Coriander leaves and curry leaves A few
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
PREPARATIONN METHOD:
Wash the dhal and add 3/4 cup water, few drops of cooking oil and turmeric powder 1/4 tsp.
After an hour pressure cook the dhal.
Now smash the cooked dhal well and put it in a bowl.
Add 3 cups of water, salt and rasam powder.
Put the bowl on heat and when rasam starts boiling reduce the heat to minimum.
Add cut coriander leaves to the bowl and switch off the stove.
Remove the bowl from stove and keep it down.
Season it with mustard seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves.
After few minutes add the lemon juice to the rasam and mix well.
If lemon juice is added to the boiling rasam it will taste bitter.
